I am Santosh Kumar Sandilya, an artist whose brushstrokes are guided by the sacred waters of the river Ganga. My passion for painting landscapes of Varanasi’s ghats stems from a deep connection to spirituality and cultural richness. Having studied in Bokaro Steel City and later at Banaras Hindu University under renowned professors, I have honed my skills to capture nature’s serenity in every artwork. Let my paintings transport you to the divine aura of Varanasi, where art meets spirituality in perfect harmony.
I began my artistic journey in my village, Bahuara (Sasaram), where I pursued my primary education before completing my secondary and higher secondary studies in Bokaro Steel City. It was during my schooling days that I encountered Mr. Laxmi Narayan, who ignited my passion for art and became my first art teacher.
In 1994, I enrolled in the prestigious Lalit Kala Department of Banaras Hindu University for my graduation, under the guidance of esteemed professors like Prof. P.V. Lal, Prof. Balwir Singh, and Prof. R.S. Dhir. Subsequently, I pursued my post-graduation in Lalit Kala at B.H.U., specializing in ‘Nature Landscape’ under the mentorship of Dr. Ravindra Nath Mishra.
Over the years, I have honed my skills and technique, infusing my paintings with the spiritual essence of the Ganga. My works capture the ethereal beauty of the ghats of Varanasi, reflecting my deep connection with the holy river and showcasing my mastery in portraying nature’s serenity through art.
With a diverse educational background encompassing art, defense training, yoga, and photography, my artistry continues to captivate and inspire art enthusiasts worldwide. Each painting is a testament to my passion for capturing the spiritual and serene essence of the Ganga and the ghats of Varanasi.
